Separate Is Not Equal

By Rebecca Wukitch

Introduction

In this lesson, students are asked to describe the steps people took to eliminate segregation in U.S. schools. By examining artifacts--photographs from the period--they develop a deeper understanding of the ways people work for change in a political system.
