King Philip's War Brass Plaque
This is an engraved oval brass plaque Peace Medal, presented by Colonial Secretary Edward Rawson to the chiefs of those loyal tribes who aided the colonists during King Philip's War. This plaque was awarded at Council on June 20, 1676. The design shows a semi-nude Indian woman in feather dress. It is similar to the design later adopted for the seal of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
